Poster

My aim for this poster was to get the Harry Potter fans shocked that there's another sequel I chose the castle of Hogwarts as my element for a film. I chose this setting because I wanted the audience to be excited that there's another harry film coming out. The film title is called Life after hogwarts. With the final product I decided to make the poster black and white, this suggesting that the film will be involved with something from the past is going to creep up for the characters. The title was a gothic theme to go with the film since it's a thriller. The byline was "You can run from the past but you can't from it" suggesting that this sequel will still bring trouble moments with an explosion of hidden secrets for the characters to be aware of. I masked the text on a red eye to show how entertaining the film could be. The main image had the hogwarts castle set in a dark place. I decided to put the owl Hedwig (Harry's pet) indicating that he could be the messenger and relevant. Part of the castle is faded to give the audience that there is a mystery to be solved. I decided to make the poster black and white because Hogwarts is the past for Harry and his friends, so I wanted to give the impression that they can't let go of the past.

This is how i started:
I sketched a castlle with a poster that I would like in my poster. The castle looked tooo plain so i then decided to add a owl.

The owl i drew was too big to fit on the poster. so i therefore searched for a snowy owl on the internet.

After i got the picture, i cropped the owl from its setting.

This owl looked reasonable enough to place on my poster. I also liked the way i cropped the owl neatly with hardly any mistakes.

I wanted to add hogwarts castle to my poster, since its been on all the Harry's film series and symbolises alot, afterall the action all began at that place. In other words the castle is Iconic. The contrast of the castle was too bright for what i was trying to achieve, so therefore i had to lighten the colour.

This is black and white picture with the movie tittle on it.

Now the owl is placed in the picture.
